The challenge was to create a very realistic vehicle while carefully considering the impact on a real-time engine. This presentation must run above 60fps and powered only by a graphics chip used for mobile devices such as phones, tablets, and in this case, an automitive digital display. This graphics chip also had to power the instrument cluster as well as navigation and default systems. The key being efficiency and maximizing the speed of the playback speed of the engine. Consideration of texture memory, number of polygons, and transparency were essential. Many tricks were no longer an option. Per pixel lighting and shaders must be avoided as well as shadows. A good example of a hard surface model built for efficency with a high attention to detail for smooth playback.
